Obituary - Jack Hunt

We are saddened to announce the passing of CMA Life Member Jack Hunt, of Scarborough, Ontario, on February 3, 2024.

A devoted motorcycle enthusiast since his days in England, Jack quickly rose in the motocross ranks, even competing in the world championship grand prix circuit in Europe. He was a Canadian motocross champion in the sixties, and was awarded the CMA's White Memorial Trophy in 1964.

Jack and his wife Diane established Torvan Motorsports, a thriving wholesale distribution company in Scarborough, Ontario, leaving a lasting impact on the motorcycle industry. His company also supported the Canadian ISDE Teams in the seventies with donations of money and equipment.

In later years, Jack found comfort in the company of his motorcycle family, and in 2011 his successes brought him recognition when he was inducted into the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

A memorial visitation for Jack will be held at 3pm to 5pm on Friday, February 9th at Ogden Funeral Home, Huntingwood Room, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough, Ontario.
